SPELLING BEE

Teasley’s annual Spelling Bee will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 8:15 in the cafeteria.  Parents of participants are invited to attend.  The winner of the Teasley Spelling Bee will advance to the Cobb County Spelling Bee that will be held on January 27, 2018.

Vedaant and Farhan will be representing our class in the Teasley Spelling Bee. We wish you both the best of luck!!

To celebrate the end of school for 2017 and the beginning of Winter Break, students will be allowed to wear an Ugly Sweater on Tuesday, December 19th if they would like.  Please make sure your child wears it with Standard School Attire on the bottom. Thank you and Happy Holidays!



Calling All Judges!
The Teasley Science Fair is just around the corner and we need your help.  We are looking for parents who would like to judge science fair projects on Monday, January 22.  If you are interested in judging projects, please email Laura Kraftschik at laura.kraftschik@cobbk12.orgfor more information. 

If your child tried out for the Talent Show, they will find out the results by Wednesday.

Tuesday and Wednesday are Early Release days with dismissal at 12:30.  


Lost and Found is Full!
If your child is missing a coat, hat, mittens, lunch box, etc., please ask them to check lost and found.  It will be donated to a local charity over the Winter break!

Learning Targets for the week:

Reading: Understanding text structure.  We are focusing on Compare/Contrast and Description.  We will have a quiz on Friday. on being able to identify all text structures (Cause/Effect, Problem/Solution, Sequence, Compare/Contrast, and Description) on Friday.  Students received an anchor chart at the beginning of this unit which they glued into their Reading Journals of keywords for each text structure.

Math: Calculating Area

Writing: Opinion Writing. We are working on publishing our latest essay.

Important Information:

Our field trip to see Wonder is tomorrow.  Please make sure to eat a good breakfast as we will be eating lunch when we return to school around 1:00.  Students will receive a snack pack at the movie theater.  It is getting extremely cold so please make sure to bring a jacket. Also, our class t-shirts haven't arrived yet so students can wear a Teasley shirt and standard attire bottoms.

  • Giving Market:  The PAWS Foundation is so excited to bring the Giving Market to Teasley!! The Giving Market will be held in the media center December 11-14.  (Students are bringing home a hard copy with more information today.)

  • ASP Open House is on Tuesday, December 9, 2017 in the cafeteria.

Learning targets for the week


  • Math- Using various strategies to multiply 2 digit by 2 digit numbers & one digit by two, three and four digits (Test Tuesday Dec 5th)
  • Reading- Using text structure to aid in comprehension of Informational text. Last week we focused on Cause and Effect. This week we will focus on  Problem/Solution and Sequencing.
  • Writing- Opinion Writing
  • ELA- Study Spelling Words. (Test on Thursday)
  • Science- Light (Quiz on Wednesday)
  • Social Studies: Colonization
Thursday is our field trip to see Wonder! We will be eating lunch upon our return to school (around 1:00). Please make sure that your child has a good breakfast.
